Where can PNMs sign up for Formal Recruitment?
11-2 in the CC, 5-7 outside DAKA, or online any time
100

A good rule of thumb: 4pm onward!

When is Preference?
Wednesday (11/9) 6:00-8:30pm

Are you allowed to talk about PNMs to your chapter?
Nope! It's tempting, but your knowledge of these PNMs is to be kept strictly within the RCs!

Alpha Xi Delta (Betxi Bear)
200
What is the last day a PNM can register for Formal Recruitment?
The day after round one (Thursday 11/3)

200
What should you tell your PNMs before they attend Preference?
2 big things: appropriate attire (business casual), and about the ritual
200
A PNM is crying after pref and keeps asking what chapter you're in, because you have a great connection and she wants to make sure she's making the right decision. Can you tell her?
Nope! Reveal is less than 2 days away, but this is the most crucial time to remain unbiased (no matter how much you adore her!)
300
What is the official flower of Phi Sigma Sigma?
American Beauty Rose
300
What are some common concerns PNMs may have before starting recruitment?
Logistical: what to wear (casual "first date" clothes), when/where to be (set a time to meet them before each round), what if I can't make it to a round Emotional: is Greek life for me, is this going to change my friendships, can I handle the time commitment of recruitment
300
What should a PNM do if she can't make it to some or all of a round?
As soon as she lets you know exactly when she will be absent from a round, have her email phcrecruitment@wpi.edu with her excuse.
300
How long does it take PNMs to sign their bid cards?
Usually between 0 and 2 hours (there may be PNMS who take longer!)
300
Uh oh! A PNM comes up to you and tells you they know your affiliation, what do you do?
Ask her to keep the information to herself, explain the role of the RC and how it would be compromised if people know your affiliation. Also ask her how she found out, and if it was from another person (i.e. fraternity boyfriend), explain that you're disaffiliated to that person too!
400
What is Theta Nu Xi's motto?
"Sisters of diversity, Together as ONE"
400
How can you help reassure a girl who may be nervous or unsure about recruitment?
Share your story! Point out the benefits (sisterhood, academic support, community service opportunities, scholarships, networking, even expanded wardrobe possibilities)
400
What are some common concerns a PNM may have while going through Rounds 1-3?
Like/dislike certain chapters, time commitment, friends voicing preferences/stereotypes, hazing
400
Who are PNMs allowed to talk to before they sign their bid cards?
They are free to talk to any RC or call their parents/significant other/best friend from back home. They are NOT supposed to gather with their friends who also went through recruitment to decide together what chapter they are all going to join.
400
What is "strict silence"?
Strict silence is the period between Preference and Bid Day when chapter members are not allowed to communicate with PNMs.
500
What is Alpha Gamma Delta's national philanthropy?
The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation (for diabetes research and education)
500
How would you handle a girl who is spreading rumors/stereotypes?
Talk to her/them- explain that every sorority has a stereotype and that they're not necessarily true! Ask them to respect every girl's decision to make her own choice without feeling judged for it
500
What is priority preference and how does it work?
Priority preference is all about maximizing options to match the highest number of PNMs with a sorority! PNMs indicate their top 3 chapters and an alternate after Round 2, and their top 2 chapters and an alternate after Round 3.
500
What happens if you have a PNM that you just can't seem to get through to, no matter what you try?
Ask for help! Hand her off to a different RC or to Carolynn, a different approach may help the PNM.
500
A sister from Chapter A approaches you and says they overheard someone from Chapter B telling a PNM that they would definitely get a bid. What do you do?
Remain unbiased and neutral while talking to the sister, and assure her that you will pass the information along to the appropriate people (Kristen/Sadie/Quinn/Carolynn) for further investigation.
