What does SIP stand for and what is it? How would you discourage SIP?

What is single intentional preference. This is when a pnm chooses to list only one sorority on their preference card after attending two Preference Round events. Single Intentional Preference (SIP) is strongly discouraged. Ranking both chapters after Preference Round does not mean a PNM is committing to either, it just increases her chances of receiving a bid. Recruitment can be emotional, and even if she receives her second choice, trying it out for a few weeks may change her perspective. While some PNMs may feel certain about their decision, SIP limits their options. We encourage them to keep an open mind so they have the best chance to find where they truly belong.

400

What is strict silence

What is once your PNMs begin the Preference Round, please do not contact them about anything besides recruitment scheduling or information they need (ex: bid day location and time). Strict silence is enforced by the Panhellenic Council and recruitment counselors after the Preference Ceremony to ensure confidentiality and allow PNMs to make their decisions without outside influence. Any interference will not be tolerated.
