What are some healthy foods we can eat?
- Vegetables.
- Fruits.
- Meats for protein such as chicken or steak, etc.
Going outside without sunscreen
Unsafe because we could get sunburn.
You drop an apple on the floor at lunch and a friend tells you to still eat it. You are upset because you were excited to eat healthy but now the apple dropped. What could you do?
Tell your friend it is not safe or healthy to eat something off the floor because it may have germs.
You can let the lunch monitor know and see if there is any extra fruit you could have.
What is an example of how we can practice being safe?
- Asking an adult for help if we need.
- Riding your bike with a helmet, not taking medicine without an adult, wearing sunscreen.
How many hours of sleep should we get every night?
When the fire alarm goes off at school, is it safe or unsafe to quickly and quietly get on line and exit the school building. Should we be laughing and fooling around with friends?
What would you do if you saw two students hitting each other at recess?
Tell an adult quickly because it is not safe and someone could get hurt.

Why is it important to get a good rest?
- So we feel energized the next day.
- Helps us pay attention.
- Helps our brains, muscles and bones to develop and grow.
Is it safe or unsafe to ride your bike alone or walk out of the house without letting someone know?
Unsafe because if something happens and you get hurt, no one will know where you are.
You are at your neighbors house and they want to go on a bike ride. However, you do not have a helmet and they tell you it is okay because it will be a short ride. What could you do?
Let them know you do not feel safe doing that.
You could see if they can ask an adult if they know where an extra is.Ask if it is okay to go on a bike ride a different day and let them know that next time you will bring your helmet.

Is taking medicine the doctor gave you safe or unsafe? Should we ever take medicine without an adult around?
Safe and no there should always be an adult present when you take any type of medication.
You have to stay home from school because you are sick and going to the doctor. The doctor gives you medicine to take to feel better. When you get home, you see a bottle of medication on the counter and think it may be yours. You are starting to feel very sick and want to take the medicine but you do not see an adult around. What would you do?

- Habits are things that we do every single day, sometimes without even realizing.
- Brushing our teeth, washing our hands, having good manners, being a role model, using calming down techniques.
Why is it important to talk about how our bodies are feeling?
What is something you can do to help your bodies relax and stay healthy?
- Because sometimes when our bodies feel a certain way and keep our feelings bottled up, it may cause us to feel like we are going to explode. It is important to talk to a trusted adult or friend about how you are feeling.
- Get fresh air, take deep breathes, go for a walk, take a break, listen to music and relax.
Is it safe or unsafe to try cooking something by using the stove or microwave without an adult around? Can you give an example as to why this may be safe or unsafe?
Unsafe. For example, you could burn yourself or touch something you are not supposed to.
You are trying to learn something new. It is very hard and you begin to feel extremely frustrated. You start to think to yourself that you will never get the hang of it and that you should just give up. What would you do?
Not give up because it is important to persist and keep trying even when things get hard.
Ask an adult or someone around you for help.
Take a break or use a strategy that could help you calm down.
Tell yourself that it is okay to mess up and that if you keep practicing you will eventually get the hang of it.
