If you come across an MCD which is a picture taken from another device, it looks altered, the account was recently opened. The activity has been primarily rewards and small amounts in cash apps. How would you proceed?
Discard any other concerns such as ID, or ACH fraud, and reject the check.
Close the account.
Flag for Confirmed Check Fraud.
What does 2FA stand for?
2-factor authentication
What is the difference between First and third-party fraud?
First-Party: First-party fraud or TRUE NAME FRAUD is where an individual, or group of people, misrepresent their identity or give false information.
Third-party fraud or ACCOUNT TAKEOVER, is where an individual, or group of people, use another person’s identity or personal details to open or takeover an account without the consent, or knowledge, of the person whose identity is being used. Third-party fraud is a significant trend.
What do we use the CIF ticket for?
To release associations that are unrecognized by member
How many members are in the team?
23/24 if we include Shirley
If you come across an altered MCD, it is a picture taken from another device with some other red flags. When you review the account you see that there have been multiple phone changes, how would you proceed?
Since multiple phone changes could be a case of IDT-ATO, I would try to discard the ID concerns by pulling PII and making sure we have the true person
In which scenario are we able to deactivate the 2fa?
Only when there is a restriction on the account or an ongoing review from Fraud
What information are we required to add to the Fraud Tasks Tracker every time we create a task?
Date, UID, Agent Name, Why was the task generated?, Was the task generated?, Was the task taken?, If not, why?, CIF Ticket, Fraudlent UID (Only the first UID created), True UID (The recognized UID) in which the member is trying to apply, OIS ticket #
If a member calls in stating that they are trying to apply for an account with us but they are not allowed because there is already a profile with their SSN, once you complete the review and ask some probing questions the member mentions that he created the profile but no longer has access to it. Would you still create the CIF ticket?
No, we should only create CIF release tickets in IDT cases.
What is the first thing that we have to check whenever we receive an IBC from a member saying that they received a call from us?
The notes
If you come across an altered MCD, it is a picture taken from another device with some other red flags. When you review the account you see that there have been multiple phone changes, once you pull PII you realize that the POF ties to someone else, how would you proceed?
Forward to Investigations since ID concerns raised besides the MCD concern
1. Click on View All Details
2. Click on Edit Details
3. Mark the checkbox 'Check the box to disable two factor authentication' under the 'Disable two factor authentication' option
What is the only ATO scenario in which we should not create the ATO ticket?
There is no scenario. Whenever an ATO claim was made and there are signs of ATO, we should ALWAYS create the ATO ticket assigned to Financial Crimes D&P
Go to WebCSR.
Look for the profile with the SSN, always.
At the top of the page you will find the first UID, on User ID.
Mention the new MCD update characteristics?
In the raw image of the check we will easily identify that the check is altered and fake since it will have normal characteristics from a fraudulent check (screenshots, different fonts, altered numbers, missing security items, etc)
The account movement is for less than $5,000.00. They might have true transactions such as bill payments, deposits, ACH, withdrawals or so but in total or individual they are for less than $5,000.00
Account may not have any previous check deposit
In some cases, we may also come across some accounts with CashApp transactions or p2ps, if this is the case, we should also take a look at them to have a better understanding of what is going on.
Mention de agents (from the team) who are available on Sundays?
Alvaro, Dorian, Sheryl, Irvin
