They act as an institute resource to help develop the capacity of the friends to strengthen the training institute in its initial stages and to foster the community-building process. 

They visit pioneers soon after they arrive for a period of 2-4 weeks to help develop a dynamic pattern of action, reflection, study and consultation and will continue supporting them with frequent and regular conversations. They accompany the pioneers in the fieldand also assist in arranging periodic reflection spaces with others on a similar learning path.
