Eligible persons include those who will reside in Alberta for at least 12 months and have

The late registration rule applies if a person moving to Alberta does not register within the time stipulated by legislation (late registration), or if an existing resident of Alberta has remained unregistered for more than three months. For individuals coming from any other province of Canada, a late registration is any time on or after the first day of the 4th month following the date they became a resident of Alberta. For individuals coming from outside Canada a late registration is any day later than three months after the date they became a resident of Alberta Business Rules
