Antecedent

A child throws a toy, and is told to pick up all his toys and put them in his toy box
Positive Punishment
A client's parent requests to leave and do some errands
Empathize but remind them of company policy regarding needing a responsible adult at the home
Client calls the night before to cancel session
Cancel session in CR as Ct cancel- advanced notice.
Notify supervisor ASAP.
The task was delayed
Consequence
Short period of time for a client to enjoy their reinforcer as the BT records data.
Intertrial interval
A child stops crying when their parent stops yelling at them
Negative reinforcement
The BT feels unsafe working in the home environment.
If not in immediate danger, continue working. Inform supervisor of situation so you can meet and discuss.
If in immediate danger request to end session early, inform supervisor ASAP
When first arriving to a client session, I should:
Start session timer, check in with family while reviewing notes/gathering materials.
Engage in play/fun activity.
Area where you would mention there were other people in the room
Additional notes/Description
A replacement strategy where a child is taught to request attention appropriately rather than engage in attention seeking behavior
Functional Communication Training
Client is given time with their Ipad after earning 10 tokens.
Positive Reinforcement
Client's family is not answering the door
Contact family/supervisor
Wait 20 minutes.
If no response after 20 minutes, update family and supervisor, then head home/to next session.
Contact client services via email regarding wait time.
Upon returning from being sick the BT should:
Discuss make up options with the family, if available
Type of notes you would write if a new behavior occurs and will likely need to be reduced.
ABC
A teaching/prompting style utilized when a child is learning a brand new skill.
Errorless learning
A child's video game console is unplugged after they have played for more than their allowed time.
Negative punishment
BT witnesses a change to an already known challenging behavior
Enter ABC notes
Inform supervisor of changes to behavior
If the BT is unable to locate parking within a reasonable distance from the client's location
Contact family to see if they a reserved spot you can park in.
If none, contact supervisor.
If a BT was unable to observe/record any relevant information surrounding the behavior, they should enter:
N/A
Teaching a client skills as they are going through their usual routine and/or playing
Natural Environment Teaching (NET)
A student is given an additional 15 minutes of detention after continuing to talk back to the instructor.
Positive Punishment
Family attempts to give a present to the BT as a thank you.
Politely decline, remind of company policy. Provide alternatives to giving present.
BT has accidentally converted a full session even though they had been running 15 min late that night
Contact client services and supervisor so they are aware.
