This three-letter acronym refers to our department, the Education pillar of KinderCare Learning Companies.
What is EGA?
This initiative has resulted in universal developmental screening in our KinderCare fleet this fall! Over 50,000 more children have received a screening this fall than last fall... and the number is still climbing.
What is Brigance Expansion?
This is a type of formative tool used by teachers to track children’s progress along the skills promoted in our curriculum. We are evolving KinderCare's version of this tool!
What is curricular assessment?
Mobilizer: This team member is the mobilizer helping our center teams activate on developmental screenings. She enjoys baking.
Who is Priscilla?
This three-letter acronym is the data system where KinderCare manages enrollment and student data, which our R&E team syncs to weekly to support our center teams in entering children’s assessment data.
What is CMS?
According to our 2024 outcomes report, children who have attended our programs for a year or more are more likely to have this set of skills (such as recognizing letters and being able to follow directions) by the time they finish Pre-K.
What is School Readiness?
We are rolling out a pilot focusing on developing a refreshed assessment strategy for before-and-after school programming in this brand.

Systematizer: This team member is the systematizer who turns details into a process, and beautifully organizes and visualizes everything. She enjoys hiking.
Who is Lu?
This three-letter acronym is the name of an alternate developmental screening tool to the Brigance, which a portion of our centers use to meet UPK or state QRIS requirements.
What is ASQ?
This KinderCare-wide event, which happened last Monday, introduced teachers to a new Developmental Screenings Conversation Guide, which they can use to have richer conversations with families about children’s screening results.
What is Fall PDD?
This is a rubric used in our centers to document and improve the quality of our classrooms. Workday will track the data from this quality tool.

Modernizer: This team member is the modernizer who helps turn data into action with Power BI dashboards for the field. She enjoys reading.
Who is Sierra?
In research, this letter represents the total number of participants or observations included in a study. It is usually placed below charts in our presentations!

R&E supports our field in tracking the Education standards on this rubric, which includes earning points for maintaining accreditation and center participation in quarterly teacher trainings.

This data visualization and business analytics tool provides our team with the ability to transform data into interactive dashboards and reports.

Who is Dr. Lisa Grant?
This three-letter acronym is the programming language we use to manage and query databases, with commands like SELECT and INSERT. For example: SELECT name, age FROM students WHERE brand= 'KCLC'
What is SQL?
This new tool provides the field with an overview of their progress on Brigance screenings, showing which children to screen, their current statuses and the appropriate data sheet for each child. Users can filter their view to a specific location.
