ELA Class Expectations
This many students can leave the classroom at a time to go to the bathroom.
One
When homework is due.
The next day or on the due date.
In any instance in which a student is asked a question, they on their honor are obligated to tell the truth. Deliberate verbal or written falsification is a form of this and is, therefore, a violation of the code. Deliberately allowing a false assumption to be drawn also constitutes this.
Lying.
Shorts must be no shorter than this many inches for EVERYONE at The Ark Academy.
4 inches.
Lack of this behavior will result in a verbal warning, followed by removal from class activities for a period of reflection. Repeated offenses will lead to parental notification and, if necessary, further disciplinary action such as suspension from class.
Love God and love each other
The time when you write your homework in your agenda.
As soon as you come in the classroom
Live a life of this. Doing the right thing when no one is looking.
Integrity.
Students are on their honor not to do this. No student has the right to take or use anything which is not his without the express consent of the owner. Thus, “borrowing” without permission may be considered this.
Stealing
This action is an ongoing and deliberate misuse of power in relationships through repeated verbal, physical and/or social behavior that intends to cause physical, social and/or psychological harm is not accepted here at The Ark Academy.
Bullying
Failure to do this will result in a written warning and deduction of participation points for the day. Further actions may result in form of detention, notification of parents, or referral to the principal for disciplinary review.

Five points
Students are on their honor neither to give nor to receive any unauthorized information in any form of school work where credit is earned or lost. If information is receiving or given without teacher permission where credit is earned or lost is called this.
Cheating
Students must have all work turned in a have passing grades in all classes this many days before to be able to attend any school trip.
Three Days
Will result in a direct reprimand and a written reflection assignment on the importance of this rule. Repeat offenses will lead to parental involvement and potential loss of privileges (e.g., extracurricular activities).
Use Kind words with a Kind voice.
This must be done after you eat a snack in ELA class.
Clean up after yourself
Late work is not accepted after this many days.
2 weeks, 8 school days.
Students should not do anything with this resource that would constitute lying, stealing, or cheating. Specifically, students may not electronically misrepresent who they are, send email that deliberately conceals their identity, or borrow passwords, files or documents from other students without their permission.
Technology (computers, cellphones, chat etc.)
There will be a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for behavior (minor or major). All cases of this will be submitted to The Ark Board. There will be a minimum of 2 days suspension either from school or from engagements at school to a maximum of 10 days suspension depending on the severity of the case. Expulsion will be evaluated by The Ark Board.
Physical assault or threat of physical assault
Will result in an automatic zero for the assignment or test, along with a meeting with parents and school administration. Repeated behavior may result in suspension or expulsion.
Will be handled with immediate consequences as appropriate to the situation.
Be respectful and honest
You may get a drink from the fridge if and only if you have this.

Students are expected to do all in their power to support the community of trust embodied in the Honor Code and are expected to not to do this that dismisses violations of the Code by others.
Condone
Copying someone's work saying it was completed by you, using AI to write your work for you, not citing your sources.
Plagiarism
Failure to seek this in a godly manner will result in a teacher-mediated discussion to repair relationships. Continued offenses may lead to loss of privileges or a restorative process involving parents and administration.
