Possession of alcohol is permitted only for residents who are 19 and up, and may be consumed in designated common areas from these containers only.

A resident who is responsible for this many Level 1 violations will be sanctioned as a Level 2 offence.

Theft of University property or another resident’s property valued at this amount is a Level 3 offence.

If a resident commits any Level 1 Offence, they are subjected to any of these as punishment. (List at least 2)

  1. Reprimand;
  2. Educative requirements such as community service, reflective essay, or research on a specified topic
  3. Refundable fine of up to $500
  4. Restrictions on behaviour
  5. Fines up to $250
  6. Full restitution for damage up to $500
  7. Loss of non-essential services 1 (e.g. guest privileges).

If a resident commits any Level 2 Offence, in addition to Level 1 Offence sanctions, they are subjected to any of these as punishment. (List at least 1)

  1. Relocation to other University housing; or
  2. Residence suspension (up to five days).

If a resident commits any Level 3 Offence, in addition to Level 1 & Level 2 Offence sanctions, they are subjected to any of these as punishment.

  1. Denial or loss of Residence Eligibility.

If referred to the University Tribunal:

  1. Fines up to $1000;
  2. Campus restrictions;
  3. Full restitution;
  4. Suspension; or
  5. Expulsion.
