The triangulation model: European ships went from Europe to Africa (mostly Western / Central Africa) carrying manufactured goods. The Europeans exchanged these goods for enslaved peoples whom they brought to the Americas. The conditions on this voyage were often horrific. When they arrived in the Americas, they labored to produce products like corn, tobacco and cotton, which were sent to Europe to be made into finished goods.
