My example is I was the worst player on softball team. I couldn't hit, catch, and was repeatedly one of the people that got out for our team. To overcome this problem, I practiced with my roommates after classes, on the weekend, on my own time. I ran drills to improve where I was weak and eventually, I was able to somewhat consistently run on base.
