Why didn't יעקב get comforted?
Because you can't be comforted for someone who is alive
Why is it important for us to know what spices the ישמעאלים were carrying?
Because the ישמעאלים usually carried bad smelling spices, but because יוסף was a צדיק Hashem made it that they were carrying good spices.

אַל־תִּשְׁפְּכוּ־דָם֒ הַשְׁלִ֣יכוּ אֹת֗וֹ אֶל־הַבּ֤וֹר

A wagon of יִשְׁמְעֵאלִ֔ים
And their camels were carrying
Why did the brothers use goat's blood?
Because it is the most similar to human blood
