What are the three categories of Tawheed?

Tawheed ar-Ruboobiyyah (Lordship), Tawheed al-Uloohiyyah (Worship), and Tawheed al-Asmaa' was-Sifaat (Allah's Names and Attributes)

100

How many pillars of Eemaan are there, and which one is listed last?

There are six. The last is belief in Al-Qadar, the good and bad of Allah's decree.

A person says the Shahadah but believes another being deserves worship alongside Allah. Which essential meaning of the Shahadah has this person contradicted?

The testimony that none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah. The Shahadah requires worship to be directed to Allaah alone.

100

Why did Allah create jinn and mankind, and what must they avoid?

He created them to worship Him, and they must not associate partners with Him.

100

A student says Tahaarah only means washing the body. What two kinds of impurities does Tahaarah remove, and what three areas of a person’s life or surroundings can purification include?

Tahaarah means removing physical and spiritual impurities. Purification can include the body, heart, clothes, and place of worship.

200

A person believes Allah alone created the heavens and the earth, controls life and death, and provides sustenance for every creature. Which category of Tawheed is this, and what does it mean?

Tawheed ar-Ruboobiyyah. It is believing that Allah alone is the Creator, Provider, Owner, and Controller of all affairs.

200

A student says, 'I cannot see angels, so I do not believe they exist.' Give two facts from the material that answer this claim.

Angels were created from light, and they are unseen to us. They obey Allaah.

200

A person prays but rushes through the prayer without proper rest in its positions. What important parts of establishing prayer are missing?

Establishing prayer requires pillars, repose, and humility; merely performing movements does not fully capture what it entails.

200

Why is ‘Ibaadah more than just salaah? Give two other examples of acts of worship.

‘Ibaadah includes words and deeds Allaah loves. Examples include du’aa and Thabh (sacrifice)

200

A person passes gas, while another person is in a state of major impurity. Identify the type of impurity for each person and the purification each one needs.

Passing gas causes Al-Hadath Al-Asghar, which requires wudu. Major impurity, Al-Hadath Al-Akbar, requires ghusl.

300

Explain why Tawheed is described as the greatest blessing a believer can possess, even before discussing acts of worship such as prayer or fasting.

Tawheed is the foundation upon which every act of worship depends. Without it, no righteous deed is accepted.

300

Which of these Books Invalidate the earlier revelations: Tauraah, Injeel, Zaboor, or Qur’an?

The Qur’an. It invalidates the previous revelations.

300

Two people each have wealth, but only one meets the conditions for Zakaah. Why is it wrong to say both must always pay the same amount?

85 grams of gold or equivalent, and 2.5% after one year, for example. Other kinds of wealth have their own rules.

300

A person invents a new way to worship and says, 'My intention is good, so Allah must accept it.'

Worship must follow what Allaah and His Messenger commanded. A deed that does not conform to the religion is rejected.

300

A person has made wudu, but there is urine on their clothes. Another person has clean clothes and a clean body but has not made wudu after using the restroom. Explain why their problems are different and what each needs to do.

Urine is Najis, a physical impurity that must be removed from the clothes. Using the restroom causes Al-Hadath Al-Asghar, which requires wudhu. Wudhu alone does not remove urine from clothing.

400

Explain why believing in Allah's Lordship does not automatically mean a person has fulfilled Tawheed. Support your answer with the purpose for which Allah sent the Messengers.

Tawheed is not complete until worship is directed exclusively to Allah. Allah sent every Messenger to call people to worship Allah alone and reject false gods (Taaghoot), showing that Tawheed al-Uloohiyyah is essential.

400

A student remembers that Nuh and Muhammad were Messengers but mixes up their order. Who was first, and who was last?

Nuh was the first Messenger, and Muhammad was the last Messenger.

400

A person does not eat or drink during Ramadan but continues to commit sins. What part of fasting is this person failing to take seriously?

Fasting also includes staying away from sins, not only food and drink.

400

When making du’aa, what two things should a believer ask Allaah for or have in their heart? Explain both.

Fear and hope. A believer hopes for Allaah's reward and fears His punishment. The material also says to ask for Paradise and seek refuge from the Fire.

400

A student says, 'If water is pure, it must always be able to purify. Also, if someone cannot use water, they cannot perform ritual purification.' Identify both mistakes using the vocabulary from the lesson.

Tahir is water that is pure but not purifying because it has been altered. Tahoor is pure water that is also purifying. Tayammum uses clean earth or sand instead of wudhu with water when water is not available.

500

A man believes Allah created everything, believes Allah's Names and Attributes exactly as they came in the Qur'an and Sunnah, but regularly asks the dead to answer his prayers. Identify which categories of Tawheed he has fulfilled, which category he has violated, and explain why his belief does not benefit him until he corrects it.

He has fulfilled Tawheed ar-Ruboobiyyah and Tawheed al-Asmaa' was-Sifaat, but violated Tawheed al-Uloohiyyah because he directed worship (du'aa) to other than Allah. Without worshipping Allah alone, Tawheed is incomplete.

500

A person believes Allaah created everything but says other beings also deserve worship. Which part of belief in Allaah is this person missing?

Allaah alone deserves worship. Belief in Allaah is not only believing He is the Creator.

500

A person can perform Hajj but says, 'I already pray, fast, and pay Zakaah, so I do not need Hajj.' What is wrong with this answer?

Hajj is also one of the five pillars of Islam. A person who is able to perform it must fulfill this duty.

500

A student says, 'I cannot see Allah, so I do not need to think about Him while I worship.' How does the teaching of Ihsan correct this?

Ihsan means worshipping Allah as though you see Him, and if you do not see Him, knowing that He sees you.

500

A student keeps their body and clothes clean, performs wudhu, but is arrogant, envies others, and shows off good deeds. Explain why this student has not fulfilled every part of purification. Name the type of purification needed, define Tazkiyah, and identify all three diseases of the heart shown in this situation.

The student has worked on physical and ritual purification but has neglected spiritual purification. Spiritual purification cleans the heart and intentions. Tazkiyah means spiritually purifying or sanctifying oneself. The three diseases are kibr (arrogance), hasad (envy), and riya (showing off).
