What's the conflict that Equality is having in this text?

Equality is struggling with being curious in a world that punishes him for being an individual. He wants to explore and learn, but his society doesn’t want him to learn more. They want to keep him dumb so that he will obey orders without any question. Some evidence that supports this is when he talks about his experience in school. His teachers always punished him the most for being brighter and quicker than other students.

Describe the setting (society) from Anthem.

The government is oppressing the citizens to live in a world without technology. Everyone MUST be the same: simple, quiet, and do what they’re told. People are grouped by their career. So Equality 7-2521 lives with all of the other street sweepers instead of with a family. The citizens of this world don’t have families. They are born to work a job until they are 40 and then they are sent to the home of the useless.

What tone does this passage have?

Emily and Courtney are criminals. They should be sent to jail! Their actions are despicable. Courtney kept the car running while Emily tried to rob a bank.
