Who has the final say?
Me (the teacher)
Where you do you write your race and your class and level?
Top of the sheet.
You one day decide that class is too boring, so you chuck your pencil at your teacher. Right or wrong?
Wrong.
You look in your backpack and notice that it is starting to get messy. What would you do?
Clean it. It's not cool having a messy backpack.
Polar bear fur is actually clear, and their skin is black. Is this true?
Yes it is!
What grade are you not to have if you wish to go on adventures?
A D and below.
The tables on the left side of your sheet, first page, is called what?
Modifiers.
You come into class and prepare yourself for a lesson. You find your table and either stand or sit and refuse to touch anything. You patiently listen for instruction and are quiet as the instruction goes on. Right or wrong?
RIGHT! A good student is an engaged one. When you are at your spot, not touching things, and are listening, it tells me that you are ready!
You have been given homework and then are told to go to Mr. Ortiz's. You CAN work on the homework in his class, right? What would you do?
Don't. My time is MY time. If you NEED help with homework, and we have spare time, I can help you. For now, it would not be a good time to do the assignment.
Tomatoes do not have more genes than humans. True or false?
FALSE! They do...
What should be in your table?
Dice bag, binder, spellbook, vis-a-vi pens, white flag, and book.
Where can you find your hit points at first level?
Your class sheet.
Right!
You see your name on the board that you have not completed your progress monitoring and an adventure will start soon. What would you do?
Do it, bring it home, do SOMETHING. I need these progress reports and I would hate to not have that info and have to share with parents about that.
Stomach acid is strong enough to dissolve metal. True or false?
TRUE! (But you still shouldn't eat metal.)
In your class locked up, away, etc.
WRONG. You are to be at your seat unless I specifically tell you to move. I'm glad my classroom is cool, but that does not mean you get to get up and walk around as you choose. If you NEED a movement break, let me know first.
A student is not wanting to leave because they absolutely enjoy it in Mr. Ortiz's room. What's not to love? You begin to pack up to leave, but see that a student is not wanting to leave with you. What should you do?
Encourage them/get them to leave. Tell on them if you must to your teacher. Your classmate does not get an excuse to stay because they "like it here". You'll be doing them a favor.
An ostrich’s eye is not bigger than its brain. True or false?
FALSE! Poor ostriches...
What can you touch when you are at your table?
Nothing.
Unless I specifically call for it.
What is the number below the modifier called?
Ability Score.
Your teacher sent you out outside of your scheduled time for a test (or a quiz, or just help in general). As you start to come to Ortiz, you think that it should be ok to come because the teacher sent you, even though they never said he was called. You come into the classroom in the middle of his lesson and ask to take that test. Right or wrong?
Wrong. Your teacher NEEDS to let me know in advance in situations like that.
You notice that your grades are slipping and you want to have them back up. You decide to get help from the teacher, but they are awfully busy. You then decide to ask Mr. Ortiz, but notice that he is absent for the day. With no help from either teachers, what should you do?
Do your best, ask parents for help, ask a classmate, etc.
Doing SOMETHING is better than nothing. Trust me.
A shrimp’s heart is located in its head. True or false?
True! Way to think with their heart AND their head!
