Now, your job is legally required to keep you as safe as possible.  They need to prove they are doing everything possible to keep you safe.  Machines are also required to have safety inspections to make sure you are as safe as possible.

What laws exist to protect workers from being abused at work?

A business is required to keep its workers safe.  Most businesses have a Human Resources department to make sure that everyone feels safe at work.  If something happens where a worker gets abused at work, the business can get in a lot of trouble with the law
