Rhyming & Repeating
The repetition of the same sound at the start of a series of words. It can be either vowels or consonants.
Alliteration

Chiasmus
The usage of repeating words and forms to give pattern and rhythm to a passage. They have the same grammatical structure on both sides.
Parallelism
A reference to a well-known person, place, event, literary work, or work of art.
Allusion
Description that stimulates your sense of touch.

Conjunctions are repeated between words in a sentence.
Polysyndeton
"Devils roll the dice, angels roll their eyes"
Antanaclasis
Words, phrases, or concepts are repeated in reverse order.
Chiasmus
A figure of speech in which a part is used to represent the whole

Antithesis

Synecdoche
The repetition of a word within a phrase or sentence in which the second occurrence utilizes a different meaning from the first.
Antanaclasis
A figure of speech in which one word or phrase is substituted with another closely associated word

Description that stimulates the tongue.
Gustatory
The repetition of a word or sequence of words at the beginning of successive clauses, phrases, or sentences.
Anaphora
“the pen is mightier than the sword.”
Metonymy
