You have 8 identical-looking balls, but one is heavier. Using a balance scale only twice, how can you find the heavier ball?

Divide them into groups of 3, 3 and 2. Weigh the two groups of 3. If they balance, weigh the two remaining balls against each other. If they don't, take the heavier group of 3 and weigh two balls from it against each other. If they balance, the third is heavier; otherwise, the heavier one on the scale is the answer.
