Laws and Acts Part 1
This is the name of a war fought between the colonists/Britain vs. the French and Native Americans. It lasted from 1754-1763. The war began as American colonists moved into the land West of the Appalachian Mountains. The British won the war but had spent a lot of money and took on a lot of war debt.
What is the French and Indian War?

This man was the king of England prior to and during the American Revolution. Parliament and this king passed laws and acted in ways which frustrated the colonists. The colonists of this king claimed that he had violated their natural rights.

What is the Proclamation of 1763?
This series of laws were very harsh laws and these laws intended to punish Massachusetts colonists for their protest in Boston Harbor which destroyed products. Some of the acts included the closing down of Boston Harbor until the Massachusetts colonists paid for the ruined tea, making town meetings illegal without consent of the governor; forcing Bostonians to shelter soldiers in their own homes in an act known as the Quartering Act, and moving the trials of British officials to England, etc. As a result of these acts, the First Continental Congress met to respond on behalf of all of the colonies.

This Massachusetts man was a political agitator in the city of Boston. He organized local committees of correspondence, was a delegate to both Continental Congresses, and signed the Declaration of Independence. He also helped plan the Boston Tea Party, although he didn't actually participate in the event.
