Walter views the money differently because the money came from his fathers’ death and due to the fact that he didn’t fully work for this money he didn’t like the fact that he wanted to use it because it wasn't from his own making as well as it making him the provider for his family. . He reacts to the money being taken the way that he does because It fully recognizes the money has his fathers flesh and it makes it seem like he lost his father again.

She doesn’t understand that she needs to love Walter throughout all of the ups and downs and that she needs to try putting on his shoes and see how he’s been whipped down again and again by life.

Ruth’s dream is so close to becoming a reality that she can live in a house, so when they talk about not moving into the house she says she will work as many hours as possible. She is sick of all of the cockroaches and the old carpets/furniture.
