What is setting?
Time and place of a story
What is an exposition? Give an example and include a book that you have read before.
The beginning of the story and includes: characters and setting. Examples will vary.
What are character traits?
Character traits can be inside and outside qualities about a character; what they look like; how they act or respond to problems in a story.

Alex shut the lid to his laptop with a loud clap. Some of the people sitting at the tables near him looked up from their books and gave him annoyed looks. Alex realized that he had disturbed them and held up his hands apologetically.
At the library, during the day because it is usually quiet in any library and he was being loud.

A rising action is when there is a conflict in the story involving the main characters. Examples will vary.

Emotions change often (they are temporary) and character traits don't.

A falling action is when the conflict or problem gets resolved. Usually the character finds a solution. Examples will vary.
Think back to the story about Ahmet's Birthday. List the 5 character traits that describe him. Also, answer: how would the story be different if he never had the dream?
Apologetic, selfish, unkind, energetic, caring.
He probably wouldn't have changed at all and would have stayed selfish and unkind.

He also needed to order 5 stamps. After his transaction, he tipped his hat, said thank you, and began placing stickers on his letters.

The resolution is how the story ends. Examples will vary.
On your whiteboard, draw a venn diagram. One side should be your 3rd grade teacher, the other side should be your 4th grade teacher. Compare us both to see what character traits are the same. Your answers may be different from your group's depending on who you had for 3rd grade.
