Portable and vehicle-integrated hands-free cell phone is not allowed. These devices still involves visual-manual subtasks, which are associated with a greater crash risk, and can cause drivers to miss the important visual and audio cues that would ordinarily help avoid a crash.

You are allowed to use your mobile device for GPS navigation. See the GPS Guidance.
- As a driver you must not blindly trust the device’s guidance but also use your common sense and judgment.
- Conduct a proper JMA, familiarize yourself with the routes before journey starts.
- Program the GPS before commencing journey.
- Use a device with audible cues.
- Position device where secured and readily visible, but not obstructing view or interfering with airbags.
