Explain the carbon cycle (essay)

Student essays may vary:

Must include:

Carbon as a fossil fuel or in the solid state of matter, as it is burned and added into the athomosphere CO2 levels increase. CO2 is needed for plant life. CO2 is a gas that can be taxed and is identified through initiatives as the Paris climate accords. Carbon in the athmosphere promotes increased temperatures on Earth, and we are currenlty seeing those increased effects. Though initatives to clean the athmosphere has many radical ideas to reduce carbon emitions, though the extreems may cause more damage to the planet. A green initative would be reforestation, planting trees and reducing new urban spawl (expantion of cities and housing;where trees are cut down.) once carbon is absorbed by the vegitation and woody plants (trees) carbon is stored as a solid once again. Though carbon can be present in the athmosphere for hundred of years before it is absorbed back into a living state (trees). The current issue is that there is more and more fossil fuels that are being consumed and manipulated into a gas than the current forest state can absorb.

Alternativly global warming is connected to Carbon when that particular gass promotes tree growth. Science has intertwined with world initatives that may miss the target of solving the issue and can actually can contribute to a larger unknown issue.

Explain the Process of creating sedimentary rock (ESSAY)

Student Essays may vary:

Must include Igneous rock that is weathered and eroded through the process of uplift. This weathering will break rocks into small pieces that could be smaller than a centemeter. These small pieces are then depositied either by water or wind. When they are deposited they are compressed by more sediments and over time with enough pressure become cemented together forming sedimentary rock. Students may add details from teh rock cycle, sedimentary rocks that are found and used in monuments, rocks that are exposed in locations like the ground, river beds, glacer pulls (bolder field) or area like the great lakes, grand canyon, gulf of mexico, the chesapeak bay, Indian ocean - from the ganges river)

500

What is Clastic rock

A combination of rock that has been smooshed together.

500

What are the primary three forces/processes of the Rock Cycle? Then name two other processes that contribute in the rock cycle

Melting, Weathering and Erosion (uplift), Metamorphasism,

Cooling, Solidification, deposition, cementation

Explain the Formation of Coral Reefs

Student essays will vary:

Must include:

generational growth. forming of new polups, shallow seas, tempurature, salinity, slow growth, compotition for space and light. Once formed how it promotes sea life and the health of the ocean.
