In this Puccini opera, "Un bel di vedremo" is sung by Cio Cio San, who falls in love with an American soldier while he is stationed in Nagasaki, Japan. They marry and have a child, but then he leaves to find an American wife (jerk!).  He returns to take his son to America and Cio Cio decides to end her life (no!!!!!)
