Romulus and Remus were the twin sons of the Roman god Mars. They were kidnapped and put in the Tiber River. They were saved by a mother wolf and raised by a shepherd. After they grew up, they decided to build a city where the wolf had found them. The brothers began to argue and fought over where to start building the city. During this fight, Romulus killed Remus. Romulus became the first king of the city, which would be named after him, Rome.
