What is asking a friend for help?
We walk quietly to our friend and ask if he/she is available to help. If your friend is not available, ask him/her if they can help you when they are done, or you can ask another friend in the same manner.
What happens when someone knocks on the door or the telephone rings?
ONLY the door monitor will answer the door, and the person assigned to the phones will answer the phone. If they are absent, the closest student to the door and phone will do the job.
When do you access technology?
You can access technology when you are in the Tech Zone, work independently at the round tables, or as a whole class.
What do you do when Ms. Diana is supervising?
You are to listen to her. She is the teacher when the teacher is not around. There will be consequences if you misbehave in front of Ms. Diana.
What do I do when the teacher rings the bell at the end of the day?
You are to stop what you are doing. Save any work if you are on the Chromebook. Return your materials to your cubby and flexible seats to their home location.
What does one do when needing to go to the restroom?
You will let an ACE, teacher, or friend know, use the hand signal, and YOU HAVE TO sign out.
What if my pencil breaks?
You will quietly throw away your broken pencil and grab a new pencil from the supply area.
Where do I put my supplies since there are no assigned seats?
You will keep your mesh bag with you when you are working. You will return it to your cubby when not using it. If you forget to put your mesh bag inside your cubby, you will owe a ticket. Chromebooks are to stay on the tech cart when not in use.
What do you do when there is a sub?
You are to listen to the sub. The sub is the teacher when your teacher is not around. There will be consequences if you misbehave for a sub.
What do I do before I sit on the carpet?
You are to help wipe down all of the tables, including ACE and the teacher's desk, return all of the supplies and flexible seating, pick trash up from the floors, and stack chairs. Grab your backpack and pack your belongings, place your Chromebook inside it, and sit on the carpet area.
Do I need to ask for a Band-Aid?
NO. You can grab one at the supply area located inside the blue bucket. Everyone is responsible for letting the ACE and Teacher know it needs to be refilled.
What do I do when I arrive late to school?
You will ask 3 before me what you need to do and get started.
How do I choose a book from the class library?
The class library is labeled under different Genres. After D1, the teacher will assign you a color. You will look under the genre you are interested in, pull a book, and look at the color sticker. If it matches your color, that book is for YOU.
How do you act when any of the Administrators (Mr. Ballard, Ms. Ayon, Mrs. Andrade), teachers, students, or guests walk into our classroom?
You will greet them and go back to work. If they ask you questions, be respectful and answer their questions. You will not run to them to have a conversation. You will lose a ticket.
Am I allowed to be on my Chromebooks during dismissal?
NO and NO CELL PHONES OUT. I will put on Mark Rober on the Smart TV.
If I have a question during carpet time or small group, what do I do?
You raise your hand quietly.
What if I need to blow my nose?
You are to quietly grab a tissue and go near the door to blow your nose, then throw it away.
You both will do the Rock, Paper, Scissors. Whoever wins wins the seat.
What if I need the nurse or the front office staff?
If you just need to get out of doing your assignments or get out of class and ask to go to the nurse, an email to parents will happen. The nurse is very busy taking care of serious matters. DO NOT WASTE THE NURSE'S TIME. You'd better have a good reason to go to the nurse. For example, nausea, headache, injury, fever, personal reasons, or stomach aches.
Why do you need to see the front office staff?
Are there any conversations or playing around on the carpet during dismissals?
NO.
Where do I turn in worksheets and find them when I was absent?
If it is Monday, you put the worksheets inside the MONDAY tray, and so on. You need to check the ABSENT tray for any announcements and worksheets.
What do you do when a guest visits?
You continue to do your assignments. You can greet them, but go back to work. If they ask you a question, you can answer it.
What if I cannot tell time?
You will walk to the phone to check the digital time.
You are to fill out the form and drop it off inside the counselor's mailbox at the front office. Please let the teacher and ACE know if you are not being called out to see the counselor. Sometimes, our school counselor are very busy.
Are you allowed to ask the teacher questions when dismissal starts?
NO. NO TALKING WHEN WALKIE is TALKING.
