Define HSA/FSA
(HSA is an account created for customers who are covered under high-deductible health plans (HDHPs). The HSA is used to save for medical expenses that HDHPs do not cover.
• An HSA account pays the entire cost of network preventive care and certain generic preventive drugs when you use Cigna Home Delivery Pharmacy.
• You must pay for other covered expenses until you meet your deductible amount; after that you’ll pay a coinsurance percentage of the covered expenses.
• An out-of-pocket maximum limits what you will pay during the year.
• You also have a special account to help pay for your out-of-pocket medical expenses.
An administrative service product CIGNA HealthCare offers to employers. The FSA is a separate account established by the participant to cover allowable out-of-pocket expenses on a pre-tax basis.
