You receive 70%.

Always walk
Place pins on pin cushion
Pass all sharp objects with the handle out
Keep fingers away from the needle
Pick up any threads and loose fabric
Rest the iron on its heal not face
Always unplug the iron
Keep rotary cutter safety on
Eat or drink away from the machine
Observe all additional safety
Do we line up by the door or stay in our seats until the bell rings?
Stay in our seats.
What happens if you break 1 lab rule?
Verbal warning and I contact your parent.
What should you do with your phone AND earbuds during class?
Keep them in your backpack the whole time.
What happens if you are going on a planned vacation?
Let me know before you leave so I can give you the work you will be missing.
Is this class just sewing or do we take notes and learn about textiles and the environmental impact of the fashion industry?
We do not just sew we do a lot of stuff:

How do I know when the next workbook check is?
Look on the board or on the daily module pages on canvas.
What happens if you break 3 lab rules?
You have to temporarily stop sewing and take a safety course to earn the privilege back.
How do you go to the bathroom in this class? (Be specific)
You use one of your two bathroom passes, then you fill it out, ask permission, hand me your phone, fill out the hall pass sheet on the board and then go for 5 minutes max.
What happens if you are sick for a chunk of time?
Let me know as soon as possible so we can work something out.
What is the chore chart, and name 2 chores on the chart?
The chore your required section is to complete each day.
Examples: Iron station, floors, sanitize tables, serger station, random
What happens when you finish sewing for the day?
Clean up your space then look at the chore chart.
When do you have to have the lab contract signed by?
The first day we start sewing or else you cannot sew.
Can you eat or drink something besides water in this class?
Does this class have pluses and minuses on the grading scale?
No.
Where should you stay the entire class period?
In your assigned seat, unless you are temporarily standing to get just the supply then straight back to your seat.
What do you do when you walk into the sewing space and you know we are sewing today?
Get your supplies out and get set up and ready to go after attendance.
How do you make up any sewing project missed time?
Before or after school or you can set up an appointment to sew at lunch
Or if you have a machine at home great take it home.

Are students allowed to help themselves to labeled supplies?
Yes if you keep it organized and take just what you need I will take this privilege away if it becomes a problem.
