What are the 2 forms of debate
Open debate allows the delegates to take the floor to discuss anything related to the resolution whether it be “in favor” or “against”
Closed debate is the division of the debate time to times “in favor” and “against”
Explain why "Point of Information to the Speaker" is used
After speakers are done speaking, other delegates may raise points regarding the delegate’s speech. If the delegate wishes to raise a secondary point of information, they may “request to follow up” from the chair

Add: adding new paragraphs or sub-paragraphs
Insert: inserting a new continuous phrase into an existing paragraph or subparagraph
What are opening speeches and when are they given?
They are short speeches outlining their stance on the topic and indicating to others how they will debate
They are given on the first day in the very beginning before we start lobbying and merging

Point of personal privilege: Used to entertain the comfort of the delegate; can only interrupt a speaker if due to audibility
Point of order: Used to indicate errors made by the chair or other procedural matters
