*Say hi to Ms. Pedersen

*Sit down quickly and put your backpack on the back of your chair

100

Where do you find your math books?

On the shelf by the door

100

How do you know which center to be on?

Ms. Pedersen will put it on the whiteboard
100

Yes! Some of them will be simple, some of them more complicated.

100

Do we take laptops home?

No, they get tucked into their little computer beds at the end of the day.

200

What do you do if you need to go to the bathroom?

*Use the "R" sign and wait for Ms. Pedersen

200

Can you use a calculator?

Sometimes I will have us take out calculators for math lessons. I still want you to be able to do the 4 basic math skills on your own, so it won't be all the time.

200

What if I can't finish all 4 stations in one day?

That's okay, we only have time for 2!

200

Will we blow anything up?!

Sorry, no. My first job is to keep you safe!

200

Are we using Prodigy this year?

I'll set it up for some use later, but we're doing mostly hands on work.

300

When can I go to the bathroom?

*When you hold up the "R" sign and Ms. Pedersen locks eyes with you and nods, you may go.

*The only times I won't send you is if there is someone else out or if I am in the middle of teaching you something.

300

Will you use any fancy tools?

Sometimes you will use a protractor, compass, ruler, or calculator.

300

What if I don't finish my station for that day?

You've got homework 😊

300

Are we doing a Science Fair again this year?

Yes! I also still have your project titles from last year, so we'll pick new ones this time.

300

What are we going to do in Computers class?

We'll start with some basic typing practice to help you type faster and with more accuracy. Eventually, we'll work with using Google Docs, Spreadsheets, and Slides.

400

How does Ms. Pedersen know if you're ready to go to the next class?

*Put all your things away in your backpack and stand quietly behind your pushed in chair

400

Why do we have math AND center time?

Middle school math is hard, and a lot of students struggle with it. I want to put more time towards it to help you better.

(Plus, since I'm pregnant, I can't stay after school for tutoring this year because I have a lot of doctor's appointments.)

400

Is this for a grade?

Yes! I use all your work for some sort of grade: Classwork, Quiz, Test, Participation. I'm not a fan of busy work.

400

Why do we use a graphing notebook?

It helps when making charts and setting up your page more neatly.

400

Can I go on Youtube/Pinterest/Instagram/Fortnite/Amazon Shopping/etc?

Dude. Don't get us all in trouble. Save it for home.

500

What do you need to do if you are going to the bathroom or on an errand for Ms. Pedersen?

Move your magnet for Ms. Pedersen's goldfish brain
