Recognize: Identify the fight situation. 

Respond: 

  • Immediately notify the Program Coordinator and/or Director or nearest staff member over the walkie. 

  • Use a calm, firm voice to instruct the individuals to stop fighting. 

  • If the fighting continues even after trying to disrupt it, you can physically intervene as it is necessary to prevent harm. Please be aware of your own strength and holding onto members in appropriate places. 

Secure: 

  • Ensure the safety of other youth members by moving them away from the area. 

Report: 

  • Document the incident and report it to the Program Coordinator and/or Director and SFH Coordinator, if needed.
