When it's pulled up it retracts the restrictor angle. The loop over the holding screw holds it in the position.

The Door Restrictor Pin. What is it used for?

Door Restrictor Pin Tool (MT-114425-1) keeps the deterrent lifted and the restrictor in the defeated position The pin is attached to a bright colored lanyard which acts as a visual reminder to the user that the evacuation deterrent system is defeated.

What is the yellow rod used for?

The HPLM & MDR Yellow Rod (AAA98HS1) is used to block the evacuation deterrent vane by inserting the yellow rod through the stationary coupler cam so the car doors may be opened with the car away from a landing. Be extremely careful when inserting and removing the rod to avoid dropping it. It will save you a trip to the pit.

At least 3 of the plastic interlocking panels on each landing to completely block the entrances from the public.

How high does the car need to be run up using the Access Key Switch?

Run the car up until the car door restrictor is higher than the bottom hoistway door deterrent angle. The run the car back down to the spot where you can service the bottom floor door lock from inside the car (aprox 2-3 feet above the bottom landing sill). Ensure that the angled part of the toe guard is just below the sill of the bottom floor.
