Never look at or play with guns! A parent should always be present when a gun is around.

Not everyone is comfortable giving or receiving hugs, handshakes, shoulder rubs, etc. You have the right to say “no” to anyone and any type of touch that makes them uncomfortable. Your body is your own and you have the right to feel safe and comfortable. Tell a trusted adult if someone continues to touch you in an uncomfortable way.

What is a digital footprint?

A digital footprint is your online identity and it's what makes you unique. It builds the online reputation or impression depending on the things you do online. It is important to be aware of it because anything posted online is permanent and stays there forever regardless of being deleted.

 What are examples of digital footprints?

  • Your search history.
  • Text messages, including deleted messages.
  • Photos and videos, including deleted ones.
  • Tagged photos, even those you never wanted online.
  • Likes/loves on sites like Facebook and Instagram.
  • Browsing history, even when you are on 'Incognito' mode.

What are the different types of bullying? (Hint: 4 types)

Verbal, Social, Physical, Cyber--

Verbal bullying is saying or writing mean things and includes: Teasing, Name-calling, Making inappropriate comments, Taunting, Threatening to cause harm

    Social bullying, sometimes referred to as relational bullying, involves hurting someone’s reputation or relationships. Social bullying includes: Leaving someone out on purpose, Telling other children not to be friends with someone, Spreading rumors about someone, Embarrassing someone in public

    Physical bullying involves hurting a person's body or possessions. Physical bullying includes: Hitting/kicking/pinching, Spitting, Tripping/pushing, Taking or breaking someone's things, Making mean or rude hand gestures

    Cyber bullying is willful and repeated harm inflicted through electronic text, email or websites

What should you do if a friend or someone you don’t know brings a weapon to school (gun/knife, etc)? 

Tell a teacher immediately! Never be afraid of someone being mad at you. By telling on them, you are protecting yourself and everyone else in the school.

What should you do if you're walking home in the rain and either a friend's parent or a stranger pulls over and asks you if you'd like a ride home?

Never get into a car with a stranger! Also, never get into a car with someone you know, unless your mom or dad knows about it.

No. It might be a stranger, or it might be someone you know, like a babysitter, a teacher, an athletic coach, a friend or even someone in your family.
