When is Shelter used?
SHELTER is primarily used in response to natural or weather events.
What is SRP?
The Standard Response Protocol (SRP) is a clear, action-based emergency plan using simple, consistent language for Five responses
SRP provides consistent, clear, shared language and actions among all students, staff and first responders, that can be applied in any emergency.
External doors are locked, no entrance or exit from the building, business as usual inside the building.
What is "Secure"
You'll hear: "Secure - Get Inside, Lock Outside Doors.”
When is Evacuate used?
EVACUATE is used in response to an environmental danger impacting the school/facility.
Channel Two
What is the radio channel all staff should be on for any response or emergency.
This is what you'll hear over the PA for this highest level of threat.
Lockdown: Locks, Lights, out of sight
What is the process during a hold?
Hold in your room (Clear hallways, conduct business as usual)
You'll see "Hold - In Your Room or Area.”
What happens for all responses when SRP is initiated?
Phones will scroll the message.
This action is called for a threat outside the building
Secure
This action is called for a threat inside the building
Lockdown
This happens with "Secure" or "Lockdown" activation
An audible alert through the PA will continuously loop and texts / emails sent to all admin districtwide.
Classroom doors locked and shut at all times.
This is a new district expectation for classroom doors to increase safety.
What should you do during a Lockdown?
Lockdown in the nearest securable space: lock all doors, lights off, cover windows, and silence cell phones!
Everyone hides, is silent
Remain calm
DO NOT open doors! First Responders or admin have master keys to open doors. Await their response or an All Clear notification.
