Should we keep staff IRs available on the floor for staff to grab whenever they need them?

Who do we send them to? 

No. We want to provide these documents to the staff in order to make sure everything is filled out completely and sent in ASAP. 

Staff IRs are sent to HR, CM and floor supervisor group.

What is the process for code silver? 

Code silver- Center lock down 

Clients and staff should stay inside and go to rooms with no outside windows. 

Staff should be within arms reach of clients 

Staff and clients should do their best to stay quiet.

At what temperature are park trips cancelled due to it being too hot outside? 

90+ degrees= no park trip 

85-90 degrees = 30 minute trip and must bring water. 

*Remember clients need sunscreen (parent permission on salve form).

Scenario: Staff come to you with a bottle of vitamin gummies and tell you that parents want the client to take one with lunch. What do you do? 

-Let the staff know that we do not administer vitamins and next time to walkie for a floor sup to come chat with parents. 

-Call parents and let them know we only administer emergency medications and that they are welcome to provide the vitamins prior to session or come in and provide it at lunch.

Should staff fill out the staff IR or Accident Investigation forms on their own? 

No. Floor supervisors or Clinical supervisors should be filling this out. 

We also want to ensure we are the ones providing feedback and noting ways to avoid the injury from occurring again or other training recommendations.

When should you fill out a Code form? 

For drills and actual events. 

These all should be saved together in the code binder or file folder.

What are some ways we can keep our clients safe at the park? 

-Staff should be within arms reach of clients

-Any extra staff can help keep an eye on the parameter/ block any elopements 

-Open field activities need boundaries

-Structured games help avoid injuries 

-Keep head on a swivel and make sure we are listening out for our clients advocating for help/ monitor interactions with others. 

-If you have extra staff: Creating a barrier 

-Great environment to encourage pairing and promote client engagement.

How do you check for RBT attendance with the new update on Lumary? 

  1. Log in to Lumary
  2. Go to Dashboards
  3. Select All Folders
  4. Open FSC Weekly Status
  5. Click on FSC Call Outs

When should you give staff a copy of the provider list- showing them the location options for medical care? 

Anytime a staff IR is completed.

Scenario- Code blue is called and you arrive to see someone choking on a piece of candy. They are really struggling to breathe and lips are turning blue. What would you do? 

Assign a person by name to call 911 immediately. 

Use Heimlich maneuver (5 back blows and 5 abdominal thrusts).

If they become unconscious, begin CPR. 

Follow instructions from the 911 operator. 

Loop in/ delegate task to notify CM and HR, emergency contact

Complete an IR, and code form

What are some items that should be in the park bag? 

-CM card 

-Crash pad

-First Aid Kit 

-Client meds (mini-lock box)
