If an item is on fire, place it over the affected area.

Use a brush and dustpan to clean up broken glass and place in a designated glass disposal container.

To prevent your hair from getting in the way of unwanted chemicals, catching on fire, or knocking something over.
Why should you never pour a chemical down the sink without asking?
They can be corrosive to the drain, harmful to the environment, or react with other chemicals in the sink. Always ask instructor before disposing of chemicals.
What should you do if chemicals splash in your eyes?
Can you move a hot plate or heated metals right away with bare hands?
No, wait for it to cool or use tongs.
Why are goggles important in a lab?
They provide adequate face and eye protection.
Why should you always read the chemical label?
It allows you to know the physical and chemical hazard information. The Safety Data Sheet gives additional safety and handling information as well.
In what situation would you use the safety shower?
In case of chemical contact with the skin or clothing. (rinse for 15 minutes)
