Either. Err on the side of caution. Either one will direct a member of the safety team to you. They can help you with your situation. You can always put up green again, if it gets figured out.

Grab your safety kit (if available), exit through the nearest exit, go find your kids and account for them. Walk them to the church.

What should you do if one of your grade level team members is absent during an emergency?

Quickly let the sub know where things are and how to use the lock block in the morning. Guide them to shelter or evacuation areas as needed.

You're outside after evacuating the building. You don't have your emergency folder for whatever reason. You're missing a child. What should you do?

Use another teacher's red card or flag down a member of the safety team.

Sealing the room in the event of a Hazmat Shelter in Place emergency.

You see a small fire and decide to use the fire extinguisher. Where should your back be facing at all times while attempting to extinguish the fire?

Toward the exit. You don't want to risk the fire spreading and blocking you from being able to exit.

You send a kid to the clinic. Ms. Allison sends them back to pick up their things because they are going home. You send them back to the clinic. Two hours later, the fire alarm goes off. Which card from your safety folder are you going to hold up?

Red. Regardless of how long it's been, you don't know for certain the child is not still in the building. Hold up the red, a safety team member will come to you, and check with Ms. Allison if the child was already dismissed or not.

P - Pull the pin

A - Aim at the base of the fire

S - Squeeze the trigger

S - Sweep back and forth until the fire is out
