List 4 responsibilities of an incident lead during a Dr. Strong
o Announce that they are taking the “Incident Lead” allowing others to engage directly with the escalating person(s).
o Direct arriving staff to: assist with deescalating the person(s), remove by-standers from the area, notify the primary CM/team of the incident, standby to assist as directed, or return to their previous activities.
o Designate a staff member to inform arriving staff of whom the Incident Lead is and if more assistance is needed.
o Direct the removal of by-standers if: the person refuses to leave the area, the by-standers may be harmed if they remain in the area or by-standers are engaging in the incident.
o Direct staff to call 911 if needed.
o Use personal discretion to ensure the safety of all involved.
o Communicate to all staff the “Dr. Strong” is clear..
o Notify a supervisor/management of the incident and give a report of the incident.
