Which choice best describes the function of the quotation in the text as a whole?

Solve for x: 3x + 7 = 22
x=5
In a right triangle, what does the Pythagorean theorem state?
Hint: Whats the equation?
a² + b² = c², where c is the hypotenuse
What is the maximum possible score on the SAT

An agrivoltaic system occurs when agriculture and solar panels coexist on the same parcel of land. Henry Williams and Max Zhang have studied how the placement of solar panels can affect both the efficiency of the panel and the surrounding crops. By using a computational fluid dynamics-based microclimate model and solar panel temperature data, Williams and Zhang claim to have found a "sweet spot" for the mounting height of the panels that will allow cooling for both the panel and the ground below, and therefore allow more types of crops to grow in dry, arid environments.
1. Which choice best states the main purpose of the text?
A) To introduce the invention of agrivoltaic systems
B) To determine the proper mounting height for solar panels
C) To call attention to a promising discovery
D) To indicate a necessary change in the growing of crops
C
In a paired question (Part A & B), what does Part B typically ask you to do?
Explain why A is the answer
What is the slope-intercept form of a linear equation?
y = mx + b, where m is slope and b is y-intercept
What is the area formula for a circle with radius r?
A=πr²
How long is the Reading and Writing Modules? How long is the math Modules?

Reading & Writing Module 2 27 Questions 32 minutes
Math Module 2 22 questions 35 minutes
Most of the carbon emitted by human activity is absorbed by the ocean, yet modeling this process has been difficult to refine. A team of researchers, led by Dr Laura Cimoli, have been studying how deep sea underwater waves, created on boundaries between water of differing temperatures and salinity, can affect carbon absorption. Combining multiple types of oceanic observations, the team concluded that turbulence between deep sea waves can dramatically affect how much carbon gets absorbed by the ocean.
2. What choice best states the main idea of the text?
A) Researchers have obtained evidence that provides the best way to reduce carbon emissions.
B) Researchers have identified an underlying factor that impacts carbon absorption.
C) Deep sea underwater waves are created by differences in water temperature and salinity.
D) Deep sea underwater waves are easily understood by direct observations.
B
What is the 'main idea' of a passage?
The central point or argument the author is making throughout the entire passage
If f(x) = 2x² – 3, what is f(4)?
f(4) = 2(16) – 3 = 29
What is sin(30°)?

In January 2023, Boston unveiled a new monument by Hank Willis Thomas to commemorate the lives and relationship of Corretta and Martin Luther King Jr., as the two met and fell in love in the city. The sculpture, consisting of a pair of 20-foot-tall bronze arms intertwined in embrace, allows visitors to walk between the arms in hope of feeling the connection between the two subjects. The initial response, however, has been mostly negative, with some members of the King family disapproving. In contrast, American Culture professor Kristin Ann Hass claims that this initial controversy should be expected, as many famous modern public art pieces, from Paris's Eiffel Tower to the Washington DC's Vietnam War Memorial, were originally met with scorn. Hass predicts that the critical consensus on the monument will likely
-. Which choice most logically completes the text?
A) remain negative as few will disagree with the King family's assessment.
B) become overwhelmingly positive in a short period of time.
C) focus on creating a more traditional replacement in its place.
D) gradually become more positive as the monument gains familiarity.
D
What are the four main types of reading passages on the SAT?

Solve the system: y = 2x + 1 and y = –x + 7
x = 2, y = 5
A triangle has angles 90°, 45°, and 45°. If one leg is 6, what is the hypotenuse?
6√2 ≈ 8.49
Why did the SAT go Digital.
Hint: There are four reasons.
(1) a shorter testing experience for students due to its adaptive nature, (2) faster Scoring, (3) more reliable test dates that do not rely on the secure storage of hundreds of thousands of paper test forms, and (4) a test that students can easily take on their personal or school-issued devices.
While studying the movement of sand dunes, Karol Bacik and Nathalie Vriend realized that they needed to further how two sand dunes interact: by creating a model that tracked the motion of a large and small sand dune, they discovered that over time their size and their velocity would eventually reach an equilibrium.
1. Which choice completes the text with the most logical and precise word or phrase?
A) separate
B) diminish
C) relocate
D) investigate
