The school counselor approaches you in the hallway to talk about Suzie, who has been pulling another student's hair and trying to step on other kids toes in line. The counselor is clearly exasperated by Suzie's continued behavior. Suzie is not your client. What do you do?
Ask that the counselor speak with you in private at a scheduled time. If a referral is not necessary at this time for SBT, let the counselor know they will need to explore options with their leadership team about how to help Suzie further. SBT can quickly consult, but not spend a great deal of time working through this with the counselor.

A high school teacher vigorously knocks on your door during a session. You answer as it seems urgent. The teacher has a student with them and states that the student wrote "I want to die" on their paper in class that was turned in. They want you to talk to the student as there is no one else available today to help with this. It is clear the teacher is scared. What do you do?
Inform them that you are in session, but that you will be able to assist after this session or find someone who can. Ask that the teacher find admin to possibly assess/at least sit with the student until you or someone else can assess. Ensure that the student is not going to be left alone until they are assessed.

Explain the Compass Health SBT referral process
1. School staff fills out referral and gives it to you
2. Check that they have medicaid or other appropriate funding
3. contact guardian within 1 week of receipt of the referral
4. Send out/have guardian sign SBT packet in full
5. scan packet into SBT CRS
6. Client is open in pre-admit
7. schedule client and guardian for CHN assessment and DLA
8. On the day of the assessment change client from pre-admit to OP and do all documentation within 24 hours

Technically NO
(Although some directors do still have the assigned therapist do it)
But it is highly recommended that you check to ensure that the DLA is in the chart in a timely manner as you could still be held responsible by compliance if you share that client with CPRC.
