What color should a scholar's hair be?

Dyed hair must be a natural color.

Skirts/dresses must be knee-length. Leggings are not a substitute for skirt length. 

Shorts must be no shorter than four inches above the knee.

What type of pants are not allowed? 

Cargo pants are not allowed. No jeans and no sheer material are allowed.

What are the grooming guidelines for boys and hair?

Boys’ hair length must be above the collar and not touching the ears, and any sideburns are to be no lower than the ear lobe. Boys are to be clean-shaven on or off campus when representing Heritage Academy.

What percentage must a scholar have in a class to pass?

Scholars must earn 70% or above to pass a class at Heritage Academy. Grades are awarded on a semester basis.

If you are absent, who needs to be notified?

Absences need to be reported to the office that day.

What types of physical contact are allowed at Heritage Academy?

No physical displays of affection are permitted. No kissing, hand holding, or hugging even if you are “just friends.”

What are the rules around make-up and jewelry?

Jewelry and make-up, must be simple and considered merely an accessory. Overuse of these items, which includes peculiar colors and faddish jewelry (chains, large bracelets, etc.) is not allowed. Body piercing of any kind is unacceptable, except that girls may wear earrings in the ear lobe only. Gauges and plugs are not allowed. Clear place holders are acceptable for nose rings.

What is the rule for sweatshirts, sweaters, and jackets?

Outerwear (sweatshirts, sweaters, jackets) must be solid red, white, or navy blue with no large graphics or lettering.

What grade must a scholar maintain to participate in extracurricular activities?

To participate in any extracurricular activities (sports games, field trips, concerts, plays, etc.) scholars must maintain a C- in all of their classes.

What does it mean to be on time at Heritage Academy Maricopa? 

On-time means in your seat when the bell rings.

What types of communication should we not participate in?

Note writing, gossiping, name-calling, or using profane, vulgar, or off-color language. No social media postings should include demeaning language about students or teachers.

Junior High scholars who do fail an academic class are required to repeat the grade level.

Let us be refined in our eating habits. No gum on campus and no food in the hallways. Clean up after yourself.

What may happen if are absent for than 10% from a single class?

Any scholar who is absent 10% or more from a single class (usually 4 or more class periods) may not receive credit for the class. This applies to all absences unless on a school-sponsored trip.
