What do you do when you want to speak or answer a question in class?
By raising you hand quietly until you are picked.
What do you do when you get in class?
Pick up your bell work, sit down and begin working.
Can I go to my locker?
Bring all necessary materials to class. You must remain in class for the duration of my class period.
What do I do if I am late for class?
If it is during 1st hour, check in with the office first. Otherwise, you must bring a slip from the teacher you were with to avoid a tardy.
May I borrow a pencil?
You must sign one out and return it at the end of class?
How do you help others be a better student?
Be kind and encourage others. Be a helper!
How do you ask for help in class?
Quietly raise your hand or use your desk signs
What if I left my homework in my locker?? Can I go get it?
No. Bring it to me after class.
Can I write in pen?
No. Notes and homework must be completed in pencil.
Can I use calculators in class.
Yes! I expect you to use a calculator in Math class.
What does it mean to respect someone else's property?
By keeping your hands, feet and objects to yourself. Do not touch something that does not belong to you.
When can I use the bathroom or get a drink?
Before school, at lunch or in between classes.
What happens if I don't complete my assignment in class?
It becomes homework.
Can I grade in pencil?
No. You must grade using a pen, colored pencil or marker.
Do you take late work?
Yes...a day late or in accordance with your IEP.
What kind of food and drinks can students have in class?
Drinks must be in a container with a closed lid per Mrs. Hitt. No cans. You must get permission to eat in class.
When can I sharpen my pencil?
At the start of class. If you need to sharpen your pencil during class, please raise your hand and ask. Please do not sharpen your pencil when I am in the middle of talking or teaching.
How do I get my work if I am absent?
Look in the milk crate by the door. Files are separated by grade and day.
Does it matter what color pen I grade with?
No
What happens if I choose not to turn any work in?
A zero goes into the grade book and a missing assignment form will be sent home for your parent to sign. You will return the form with the completed assignment. If it isn't turned back in, a parent/guardian will be contacted.
How do you show respect to others?
By listening to them, taking turns sharing, and using appropriate language and gestures.
Where do students line up before class?
Outside the classroom door along the lockers.
Do I need a notebook for math class?
You need a 3 ring binder for math class.
Can I use the restroom?
You must remain in class for the duration of the class period. Use the restroom before school, at lunch or in between classes.
Can I correct my test?
Yes! Test corrections are encouraged. If you fail a test, it is required with a parent signature.
