What is Honorable Character?
The behavior expectations we have for our UME Eagles!
When you come to school late like after 8:30, what do you do?
You need to go to the office to get a late slip then go straight to specials.
How do you ask for help in class?
Look at the CHAMPS poster to see what the appropriate option is for the activity.
A mark on the board means you are not displaying honorable character. The first mark is a warning. Any mark after that will be noted on your behavior card.
Where should 4th grade students wait during arrival and dismissal?
In our line in the gym. You may whisper quietly.
When can I use the bathroom?
Before school, right when class starts, at lunch.
Who can give defining character marks?
Any teacher in the building!
When can you go out of the class?
You may only leave the room with teacher permission.
When can I sharpen my pencil?
Right when you arrive to class or when you can freely move around the room and you would not be interrupting anyone. You can also trade your pencil for another.
What are Honorable character marks?
These are given when your teacher sees you implementing any of the honorable characteristics--thank you for following the expectations!
What is the voice level expectation during drills or emergencies?
0-Silent No exceptions!
How do students line up?
How does your parent know if you received any marks?
Students will show their parents their behavior card every day and have them sign it once a week! Additional defining character cards may go home during the week if necessary.
How are you expected to behave in the cafeteria during breakfast or lunch?
Go to the restroom before sitting down. Get in the lunch line if you ordered food. Otherwise sit in your seat, chat at a level 2 with your neighbors, and eat your food! No getting up and wandering around!
