What do you do when you want to talk in class?

How should we treat our materials?

You walk in a quietly and straight line.

How do we sit at our seat?

You sit on the chair without rolling, and keep your hands, feet, and body to yourself.

How do you get your group to work together?

By taking turns speaking, being kind, helping each other, motivating one another, etc.

How should we speak to each other?

Encourage others by saying positive things. Don't put people down.

How do you ask for help in class?

You can ask your classmates for help, or raise your hand and ask a teacher.

What items are we allowed to use, or grab? And what should we do before using something?

We can get materials from our little cart, but we put it back once we're done. Always ask for permission before grabbing something.

If we need a break from sitting, what can we ask for instead?

Ask to stand at your place, ask for different seating, ask for a break to sit at the carpet.

What is the Respect Rocket?

A rocket we will work as a class to fill up with astronauts. We earn astronauts when we score at least 2 points in the following: 1.Participating in your groups, 2. Not interrupting/distracting others, 3.Treating each other with respect and kindness

How do students respect classroom materials?

By using them appropriately, not destroying them. Asking to use first before taking anything.

When can I use the bathroom?

The last 5 minutes before my group ends.

What are we not allowed to touch or go into?

We do not grab teachers things off the desk, and we do not go into the storage closet.

If chairs, materials, or fidgets are becoming a distraction, what can happen?

It will be taken away for the day and given back at the end of the day.

How can we earn individual rewards/hole punches?

Getting to class on time, participating, making progress towards your goals, being kind and helpful, etc.

How can we work as a group to create a welcoming class for everyone?

Examples-  be respectful toward others, treat others the way you want to be treated, be a good listener when others are speaking.  Follow teacher directions.

Can I sharpen my pencil?

Only the teacher sharpens pencils, if yours breaks give it to the teacher and grab one from our materials cart.

What do you do if you want a book from the classroom library?

You need to check it out using the library checkout list. Ask for help if you need help filling it out.

What does a good working group look like?
They are sharing, helping, and encouraging others and getting your work or project done.

How can you respect others?

By listening to them, taking turns sharing, and using appropriate language and gestures. Using kind words, etc.

How do we leave the classroom?

We wait to be dismissed, we put our materials back where they go, we clean after ourselves, and we quietly return to class.

Do I need to ask before getting something from the toiletry bin?

No, but take only what you need.

What can you do when things get hard or frustrating?

Keep trying, ask for help, take a break, take deep breaths, etc.
