What do you do when you get in class?
You hang up backpack and coat, eat your breakfast and follow the instructions on the board.
What do you do if you come to school late
Hand in your late pass and put away your belongings. Join the class and make sure you have any materials you need.
What do you do when you walk in the hallway?
You walk quietly, in a straight line at a good pace.
How do you get your group to work together?
By taking turns talking, sharing and most importantly listening.
What do you do to help others be a better student?
You encourage others by saying positive things. No put downs!
How do you ask for help in class?
You quietly ask your partner and group. If you still can't get the answer raise your hand quietly and wait.
How can we avoid yelling in the classroom?
Waiting our turn to speak and being conscious of our volume levels.
When we leave special what do we all say? What voice level do you use?
We use speaker voice to say "Thank you."
How many people is considered a group?
2 or more people.
What do you do if you have to use the bathroom?
Think about whether or not it is a good time to go. (unless it is an emergency) and show the bathroom sign. Quickly and quietly walk to the bathroom so that you do not distract classmates.
How do we treat our books in the library?
Like we love them! We take good care of our books and make sure they are safe.
What happens to you when you leave something outside at recess?
You have to wait until dismissal to go back outside and check with an adult.
What do you do if you broke a class rule, are feeling an uncomfortable emotion, or are having a disagreement?
Take a few deep breaths to calm down, remove myself from the situation and tell an adult.
What is the most important classroom rule?
ALL OF THEM!
When is a BAD time to sharpen your pencil?
When someone is in the middle or talking or presenting to the class
My desk should be organized and should only include school supplies.
What should you do at recess?
You should make sure everyone feels included and look out for classmates who need someone to play with. You should be safe and keep your hands to yourself. You should also have fun!
What does a good working group look like?
They are sharing, helping, and encouraging others and getting your work or project done.
How do students line up?
I push my chair in when my table is called. I quietly walk on line and wait quietly.
How do we act during dismissal?
We get our bags quietly, then collect our homework and pack up quickly. Place our backpack on our chair and wait quietly for our afternoon meeting.
How should you behave in the cafeteria?
If you are on line to get school lunch, you should be paying attention and keeping a calm body. When sitting at a table you should make sure everyone is being included and keeping your volume level at a "group" volume.
What kind of noise will working in group sound like?
Students talking quietly but not disrupting others.
