What are we required to wear at work?
In our SACC programs, a CFL provided staff shirt is always required during program hours. Please do not alter this shirt in anyway (cut, tie, pin, etc).

Same-Day Sick Call Outs
Call one of the Program Directors or Program Coordinator on their cell phone and talk to them directly to let them know your situation. Steph cell: 718-812-0526 Guadalupe cell: 347-994-6504
If the director does not answer, call the program coordinator. If they don't answer, leave a voicemail.
Someone will then contact you back via call or text to confirm they have received your message.
ONLY texting or emailing is NOT an acceptable form of communication for a call out.
Is it allowed to post students on Snapchat but not instagram?
This social media policy includes but is not limited to the use of:

What are some things that are appropriate to do with colleagues?

Have lunch with them at work
Suggest events and outings that bring the staff group closer
Question and make suggestions about the way others (including supervisors, specialists, and director) run their group or other areas of the program, as long as you do it respectfully and sensitively.
Respectfully confront coworkers and others in the program when you think they are doing something that is not in the best interest of the children, the teens, other staff, themselves, or the program in general.

What kinds of shoes are appropriate to wear during after school?
Shoes must be comfortable so that you are able to walk around, run, play games, and complete your assigned tasks. All shoe types, including sandals, slides, and Crocs, must utilize a back strap for safety.
How long in advanced should you communicate with supervisors about days off?
As soon as you know you will have to be out, communicate with S&G.
Vacation time should be requested 1 month in advance. Other events 2 weeks in advance.

Extended Sick Call Outs (More than 3 workdays):
For absences of more than three consecutive workdays, the Agency may require reasonable documentation that safe and sick time was used for an authorized reason. An employer may also ask for a date on which the employee is cleared to return to work (pg. 90).
Call the Program Director or Program Coordinator to update them each day that you will continue to be out.
What are things that we are not allowed to do when it comes to social media?
· Citing participants by name
· Wearing a CFL shirt in a picture
· Making comments that refer to CFL
· Having anything else that would identify you as a CFL staff
· “Checking in” any location while you’re at work, even during lunch
· Posting photos of CFL performances, events, field trips
When are appropriate times that staff should be eating during their shift?
Staff members are not allowed to eat during program time unless on an official break away from participants. Staff may eat when children are eating if the food is the same as what the children are served (such as snack time, group party or cooking activity). Drinks other than water may spill or be distracting while working with participants and are not permitted. Chewing gum anywhere in the building and on school property is not allowed.
What will happen if you decide to start a romantic relationship with someone in the workplace?
If you are considering going into red or yellow light areas, or if it has already happened, it is very important that you consult with your supervisors. Staff members who do not follow the guidelines detailed in this policy packet may be subject to disciplinary actions.
Describe the dress code for shorts and pants
SHORTS & PANTS
Shorts should be at least fingertip length and fit in a manner that does not ride up. That is, you should be able to participate in a full range of motion without exposing your underwear or upper thighs. Leggings and fingertip-length biker shorts may be permitted if the fabric is thick enough to ensure that underwear is not visible. Ripped jeans are not allowed. Per DYCD guidance, pajama pants are not allowed except on program-designated PJ theme days.

The staff member should communicate with supervisors immediately and let them know of the situation. Supervisors will then check in with the student.
Communication with Participants:
Staff may not communicate or otherwise interact with Participants through Personal Social Media and Messaging. This applies to tagging, liking, following, posting, friending, texting, and other Social Media and Messaging interactions. Staff may not “connect” or communicate via social media with participants under 18 when they leave our program as they may rejoin; you can provide them with the program email address if they’d like to keep in touch with our site.

The use of cell phones is not allowed while working with participants/staff, except under special circumstances approved by the Director. If you need to make or return an emergency phone call, please inform the Program Director.
