True or False

When walking in the hallway, I can touch the walls as long as I don't mess anything up.

FALSE

Your hands should always be to your sides and never touch the wall. This makes the wall yucky and ruins student work on the walls.

100

When you are lining up for lunch in the cafeteria, what voice level should you have?

Level 0 (silent) or level 1 (whisper). If you get too loud, no one can hear!

Sitting down, eyes on the book, two hands on the book, whisper voice or voice off.

If you see a friend or another teacher you know in the hallway, what should you do?

Wave to them without talking. This disrupts other students' learning in classrooms around you!

Ask yourself, "Is this a big teacher-sized problem or a little, kid-sized problem?"

Try to solve the problem on your own first by either telling the person to stop, moving spots or ignoring the problem.

If the problem continues, raise a quiet hand and ask Ms. Cromwell for help.

300

What voice level should you have in the hallway?

Level 0 - NO TALKING!

Right before dismissal

Any other time, you must ask to go!

400
How should Ms. Cromwell's students look when they are lining up at a door?

Walk to the door. Eyes are forward facing the door. Bodies are still. Hands are to your sides or you are hip and lip. Voices are completely off. Feet facing the door.

400

What side of the hallway do we need to walk on?

We walk on the right side of the hallway like cars drive on the right side of the road. This allows other classes to have the other side of the hallway to walk on.

400

If you need something during lunch, what do you do?

Raise your hand and wait for the lunch teacher to come to you. Do not just get up!

400

Calm and quiet. Follow the teacher's directions and do not panic. Fire - get outside quickly. Lockdown - go by cubbies and sit silently!

What are our voice level expectations and when do we use each level?

0 - Voice off (Ms. Cromwell is teaching or another friend is sharing)

1- Whisper (during partner work time, quiet reading time, turn and talks)

2- Inside Voice (during indoor recess, when you are sharing to the whole class)

3- Outside Voice (only out at recess)

500

How should Ms. Cromwell's class look while seated on the classroom rug?

Bodies still. Bottoms on the rug. Sitting either (criss-cross, mountain style, mermaid style, figure-4, or legs straight). Eyes on the speaker. Mouths closed. Ears listening, brains ready to LEARN!

Absolutely no laying down, fooling around, or goofing off. This is a learning environment. Students who goof off receive consequences.

500

Does it matter where you stand in line?

NO. We are all going to the same place. It does not matter. Only the line leader and caboose have a specific spot in line. Everyone else needs to find a spot and stay in it.

500

When lining up for recess, how should you look?

Once called, WALK to our hallway line spot, line up, and wait QUIETLY until Ms. Cromwell picks you up for recess.

500

What are the consequences we can get in Ms. Cromwell's room?

1 - redirect (stop what you are doing and make a better choice)

2 - sideline (you are distracting the learning environment. Take a few minutes in the back of the room to reflect and reset your behavior. Come back when ready to learn).

3 - Take a break (you need to leave the room and reflect on your behavior)

4 - Parent contact (phone call or message home about behavior) This may also be when the principals need to step in and speak with you.
