ANECDOTE
Back then in freshmen year, I had an unusual high tolerance for stress and most of that tolerance was because of my emotional stability. Because of that, I thought I can do anything I set my mind to. I was able to run for incredible distances for long periods of time, excel in science easily and had a good, optimistic mindset whoever I meet. It wasn't until college when I started to feel bad about myself and how I wasn't that type of person anymore. Slowly, low grades shot down my ego, though that did not really bother me as greatly as the other people who ask and tell me how to do much better in my tests. I felt really dumb because of them and that I cannot improve at all because I was not born with that innate intelligence.
