If a species at the bottom of a food web goes extinct, a cascade effect can take place. This means that animals throughout the whole food web may also go extinct since they have no food to eat.

The air outside of the chip bag decreases in air pressure as the plane gets higher and higher. As a result, the air inside the chip bag begins to expand until it eventually pops. In other words, the difference in air pressure between the air outside and inside the chip bag.
